Since our involvement with the quad debacle, Erica has become a firm friend. Originally coming together as protesting neighbouring properties to the unlawful quad bike development, we now come together for other reasons. There are times we don't even mention the quads -rarely, but there are moments. She loves craft, I love food, we talk about doing something together. Who knows where our friendship will take us, but for today I'm enjoying a walk in her magnificent country property before the other guests arrive to enjoy a most pleasant afternoon high tea.
My little lemon cakes went down a treat. It feels like stepping out from the pages of CountryStyle magazine. Only this is real.
PS: you can read more about Erica's horse thoroughbred property here: Benwerrin Lodge
I'll bet those cakes went down a treat! What a lovely afternoon that would have been. Tea, cake, fresh air...space. Ahhhh, love it.
ReplyDeleteI also love 'possibility' conversations, especially of the crafty/foodie type. I was talking to a friend of mine last week with a similar conversation. We had the business idea all mapped out down to the teacups.
Have a good week Mariana.
xx
Twas twas Brydie - let's not forget the cheese and wine!
DeleteOoh you have aroused my curiousity. I'd love to hear where your 'possibility' conversation is leading. Just mentioning the word 'teacups' - you've sold me. Does the word 'vintage' fit in anywhere? It does with me. M xx
vintage, retro, recycled, hightea, handmade, shop, parlour, little cakes.... all words to describe the "possibility' conversation. It's a bugger she's moving at the end of the year, (actually I think your direction- Mulumbimby?)
DeleteOooh just a beautiful place Brydie. I was there about three weeks ago to support the 'save the church' at Federal just down from Mullumbimby. Belinda Jeffery was there (I have a photo with her), she is so lovely. She moved there several years after being fed up with city life in Sydney. She hasn't regretted the move and she's been quite active in the community. Nicka and I were saying at the time what a stunning part of the world it is. This type of business is perfect in this part of the world - though you may have a little competition as a few places such as this already exist - but hey - I'm sure you'd bring your own spin on things. Good luck to your friend. I'll be keen to see what happens. And you my dear, keep dreaming - dreams come true.

Lovely photos ma, specially love the one with the table and swing, and the teapot/vase one. Very countryish! Looks like you had a beautiful day.

If I can manage to take some nice shots, imagine what you could do. How about you get your little ole butt out there with your lahdehdah camera, take some shots and send them in to CountryStyle Mag like I've been nagging you for past year. You may score yourself a photography job little one and wouldn't that be just dandy!! No pressure!! Love from your mother xx
